human...
Nothing special here... a culture-bearing primate classified in the genus Homo, especially the species H. sapiens. Human beings are anatomically similar and related to the great apes but are distinguished by a more highly developed brain and a resultant capacity for articulate speech and abstract reasoning. |
Watchers...
Just your run of the mill human here. Aside from the years spent training in martial arts, expanding their knowledge to tune them into the best support role to the huntsman. These ladies and gentlemen have finely adjusted senses and bodies that allow them to not only train a huntsmen but to give them a hand when needed. |
huntsmen...
During their youth these are just average human that is until they hit puberty. Once they are of age, they start to show heighten senses and agility. Their sense can be easily overloaded if they focus on one sense for too long and if the following does happen, it can take a few minutes to snap out of the pain that is brought on. They also gain superhuman strength and speed… however they are not strong enough to pick up a car. They also have the ability to sense and see the demons and weres even when they are not showing their true nature. Once and a while they are haunted by Prophetic dreaming or dreams about past huntsmen. They also have regeneration ability that allows them to heal almost twice as fast as normal human, sometimes faster if the wound is minor. Over the course of training, they learn how to handle different weapons and different fighting styles. Once they complete their training, they are gifted with a weapon that their subconscious self picks out. This weapon often aligns with their natural element. The older huntsmen have the slight ability to control enough of this element to allow it to flow through their blade. |
demon...
Tricksters… masters of illusions. These beings can appear as normal humans. In their demon form they can show a number of features… facial wrinkles, horns, solid colored eyes (normal red, black or blue) and of course sharp pointy teeth. They feed on the blood and organs of humans gaining strength the more they kill. They cannot go in direct sunlight or be out during the day unless they are protected from the sun such as being in a building or in the shade. They are strongest during the witching hour (between 2-4 am) Depending on how long the demon has roamed the earth, they can have certain powers such creating flames from their blood or spiting poison. Demons create other demons from their own blood. However demons that are created from the original demon’s blood are rare and a whole different level of danger. Weaker demons breed weak minions… which often become an emergency snack for other demons. Demons do have some ability to heal their wounds and tend to heal faster when they feed. They can only be killed by sunlight, losing their head or having their hearts pierced by the huntsmen’s sword. |
were...
No one has figured out how Weres came be to… only that they started to show up not long after the demons. They appear to be human and can move within the human world with no trouble at all. However during full moons they can have trouble controlling their powers and actions. The only hint the Watchers and Scientist have about how Weres are created is through bodily fluids pass through a open wound. They are not quite the Werecreature of legends… Most weres only show a few characteristics of their animal spirit. The more seasoned Were can control their powers willing. Bringing out only what they need to win a fight or to get them out of a trouble spot. Depending on the species of animal, depends on on what powers or gifts they have. Most of have the animal like strength, speed and senses. The most common Weres seen are that of the dog and cat families. Their a stories of reptile and Spider Weres out there but not record exist that the Watcher’s have gathered. |
